Diploma in Social Work & Management an IPER effort towards HRD
IPER is working in the field of development and rights of children and their families for more than a quarter of a century. During the period of carrying out the multifarious activities in the field of social development for the underprivileged it has been continuously felt that there is extreme dearth of trained social workers in the state, who would be equipped with effective skills and techniques of social work and management. To cope with the needs, very often social workers are appointed from other states incurring a lot of expenditures.
It is also the experience of IPER as well as other voluntary organisations that people who join social work either do it because of pure love for the work and generally do not have the required professional skills for it or owing to non-availability of any better occupation. Very few people take it as a profession to be followed with all seriousness and planning.
All these have led IPER to form a College of Training and Research and offer a one-year Post Graduate course titled “Diploma in Social Work and Management” from June, 2001 with the idea of giving an opportunity to the social workers who want to serve the society with relevant knowledge and expertise.

IPER PTTI
IPER has started the Primary Teacher Training Institute under the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. This year as per the sanction 100 students were admitted after the list was being processed and scrutinized by the Board. It is running from 8a.m. to 2p.m. from Monday to Saturday. However an impasse has been created in the month of February when the Board along with all the PTTIs got entangled in litigation with one organization who was denied permission to open a PTTI by the Board.
